Trying to show how visible it is in direct sunlight.

Ever since I starting bringing the bike to the drag strip, I realized how easy it is to find the rev-limiter.  The 929 revs up so fast I'd hit it before I even realized I was that close.  Had been looking for a shift light but didn't find anything worthwhile, till this one of course.  It's a band of 11 LED's, 6 green, 3 yellow, 2 red.  Fully programmable to run sequential like in the vid, 1 light that goes down the range, or all lights flashing at a set RPM.  You can also set the limits for each color where you want it.  Pretty impressive little toy.  Even has a light sensor so it will dim at night automatically.

Here is how I separated the wires so I could burn off the insulation.

The install isn't hard really, but it's not easy.  You need to be comfortable soldering small wires.  You will need to tap 3 wires onto the harness right behind the gauge cluster.  Above is a picture of how I went about stripping the wires so I could tap into them.  Used a screwdriver shaft to separate the wire, then a hot soldering iron to burn the coating off.  After that it's pretty simple, just keep the solder application to a minimum.  As far as body work removed to install, I only removed the windscreen, front fairing stay, gauge cluster, and the relays behind the cluster.  The programming instructions are easy enough, one tip would be to file away a bare spot of metal on the fairing stay so you can get a clean ground with the orange wire (used to program).
