Stumbled across this ad by random one day. Was looking at www.cycleforums.com and saw a post about "is this cheap for a 929rr?". Curious what a cheap 929rr went for or looked like I followed the link in the post, which was the ad above (screen shot). This is obviously my bike, picture from the "Kank 3" page and the text from the "stock pics" page. Guess this has been going around where people will pull pics off the net and start Ebay auctions for super cheap bikes. If you should win the auction you will be required to send a direct payment, no escrow, if you bring it up you will get the run around...till either you give in and pay, or he backs out. If you do send the money, you will never see the bike or money again, good luck trying to get money back from Spain. I called the site host up and explained what was going on with the ad, they agreed to remove it and kill the users account. Also posted this on a few forums and got some replies back from people that have seen this before.

This was a post made by firebladetoronto from www.fireblades.org, who ran into the same thing on Ebay with a 954:
"THIS IS A SCAM. I saw an ad for a 954 (yellow) for sale on ebay. $3250 USD,
including shipping from Spain. So I email the guy and say I am very interested.
He emails back, say great..blah blah blah. He says, ok send me $1500 western
union, and he will ship the bike. I say no, and give him the link to
www.escrow.com, he says no, send $2000, I say no, and give him the escrow site
again. Then he says, give him $500 for the shipping costs, mean while, he said
shipping was $800. I kept on saying escrow, and he kept rejecting it. He come up
with some other cock a mame (sp) ideas...here is an exerpt from his email...

I understand very well your maximum attention about this deal and you have all
the right to take care in bussines like these . You donīt offend to anybody with
these questions, you have all the right to request these thinks .I will explain

BTW, the ad disappearred from ebay like a couple of hours after I saw it.
Is there anyone here from Spain. Maybe we can send someone over to see
him...assuming he even lives in Spain. Sounds like he has a contact or Western
Union or works at a station???
