I guess this doesn't really belong on the 929 side of the site, since I rode the 750, but I'll link it to both sites. I didn't get in any pictures this time since I was doing alot of the camera work. Rode up in 2 groups, me and the SV-S in one group, the triumph, VFR, SV, and chase car in the other group (long way). The VFR ended up not making the whole run due to some target fixation with a mailbox, Rider was ok...just banged up and the bike needed some work before it could be ridden again safely. On the way up we spotted a crack forming in the front tire of the 750 turbo, so we called ahead to VT and got a front tire lined up and ready to be mounted. Showed up, pulled the front off (1st pic) and drove over to the shop. At first the kid handed me a rear tire, insisted that it's the same as a front (the tire size was the same). Once I showed it to the shop guys they took it right back to the parts desk and got a correct old skool looking tire for me. Expensive! But I was in a pinch and was just happy to be on a better tire. Even with the old style tire on the bike I had no problem pushing it around the twisty roads keeping up with all the newer bikes. The boost was a handful in the turns though, I can see why people wrecked these things. |
